Livestream Inspiration: Back to School Bento Boxes Demonstration

Livestream Inspiration: Back to School Bento Boxes Demonstrationfeatured

Summertime is still here, but it’s already Back to School season. Your fellow livestreamers are likely pushing school supplies, school fashion, expensive backpacks, lunch boxes, and classroom decorations.

Why not be different and do a fun livestream showing how to make cute Bento boxes to send to school with your kids every day?

You’ll have to do a bit of research to determine which bento boxes to invest in for your livestream. There are many to choose from, and the three or so most popular brands already have shoppable videos from other influencers on their product pages.

Start with bento boxes; then accessories and decorations for them (plastic grass, mini condiment holders, etc).

Intermingle a few Bento cookbooks with great photographs, then move on to Bento containers, rice ball molds, nori accessories and the scissors to snip them with, etcetera. I might mix in a Bento cookbook (from my library, to save money) every 2-3 other products. (Bento Blast! is a cookbook with adorable ideas to inspire you.)

I’d be tempted to showcase this Disney Princesses bento box, but be sure to hold it up close to the camera to show the delicate light pastel mint design.

Zak Designs creates lots of simple, inexpensive licensed bento boxes such as this Disney Frozen bento box. You of course won’t make much commission on an under $15 item, but it may tempt your viewers to click on other items and make multiple purchases in the same shopping cart.

This owl bento box also comes in blue.

Capture your viewers’ attention with eye catching novelty bento boxes, such as this cute kitty bento box, a strawberry shaped bento box, However, keep in mind that one drawback to the shaped bento boxes is they often only have two compartments, making it harder to showcase dividers, bento picks and condiment containers.

You might want to check out the 3 Sprouts shop on Amazon for cute and creative animal themed bento and lunch items.

Here is one of the more unusual novelty Bento boxes: A Bento box shaped like a hamburger and a sandwich!

This house-shaped bento box is actually quite tiny, but so adorable I couldn’t resist picking one up for myself.

Most bento box meals are supposed to be eaten cold, but this Kiki’s Delivery Service black cat bento box is microwaveable.

For older kids, you could showcase this lacquer My Neighbor Totoro bento box. It’s larger and not really practical for toting to school, but you could suggest using it to serve teenagers at family Japanese style meals in your home.

Demonstrate how to make and cut sandwiches into adorable shapes using sandwich cutters.

This is an Uncrustables sandwich cutter and sandwich maker, featuring Mickey Mouse, a unicorn, a dinosaur and a teddy bear.

I can’t with these Cuddle Palz koala bear sandwich cutters. They are too darling!

Make several of these robot sandwiches in advance of your livestream, using brown bread and white bread. Then just hold the sandwiches up on camera as well as the product used to make them.

Plan ahead, gather supplies and teach your viewers what kinds of foods they might pack into these silicon Bento box cups and how they might incoroporate these dividers.

Cut mushy sayings (“Love you,” “Have a great day”) out of cheese or ham with these alphabet cutters.

Here are animal themed picks to decorate the bento box meal.

A bento box meal wouldn’t be complete without vegetables and fruits cut into adorable shapes using vegetable cutters.

Practice making rice balls with these rice molds so you can easily show your viewers how to do it. However, it’s tough to get a white or brown ball of rice to look good on camera. Practice! And here is a set of cartoon rice ball molds ideal for preschoolers.

Your audience will lose their minds over these penguin rice ball molds!

You’ll only make pennies in commission on this $4 animal soy sauce containers product, but it’s nice to show viewers how to package soy sauce for the children’s meal.

Show your followers how to slip cute novelty shaped ice packs into kids’ lunch boxes to keep their lunches cool. Here’s a reusable shark iceĀ  pack set. Too scary? How about a charming penguin ice pack. Or you might like thisĀ  colorful set of Cool Coolers ice blocks.

Tip:

Practice making everything and decorating your Bento box at least two or three times before your livestream. Have everything ready, portioned out, in order, and perhaps write a script or outline of your livestream you can check on during your show.

I hope you found some of these ideas inspiring, and I know a bento livestream would take a LOT of advance planning, practice, and post-show cleanup!

Happy livestreaming,
